Belated Tabaski

Let's get that meat rollin'

Mohamed's fiance and one of the maids busy themselves in the hole of a kitchen. I could barely see from the tears that the smoke imposed

The butcher also takes care of the head and the hoofs...nothing is wasted

Alright, they make food for an army, they give most of it away to neighbours and friends, but in return they get some from others...the excess is given away to the poor that come begging or at worst wasted...a little heart wrenching

And the dishes...that remains the same beyond cultures and continents

Desert treck

Les nids de cigognes sont tres nombreux et considerer comme porte chance pour une maison

Hmmm, a good try but not quite local-looking

Yummy, warm soup and bread as an entree, it seemed very fitting to tent dwelling

The Campement; great thick wool material makes up the walls of the tents, efficient against the wind

Oofs, day 2 with Mr. Camel...my bum isn't sure it's liking the experience as much

The happy tourist bunch...it's a great way to meet people

Well the car broke down...so much for catching our train to Casablanca

Senses

Snail stands, they only come out at night...I wanted to try it but it ended up slipping my mind

You never know what you'll find beyond a bend behind a small door...the prettiest tea house

Anybody for some dried fruits and nuts?

African soil has taken a toll on my shoes so I went looking for a new pair

Rugs (in case you were wondering!)

The Olive quarters

Fresh squeeze OJ for 40 cents

The Spice man

The main square; place Djemaa El Fna

Buying some veggies from the street man

Marrakech

A walk in the Medina

We rented bikes one day....a great way to get around...if you survive it. Near death experience might describe it well!

A little sunshine kept the days comfortably warm-ish

The Sooks

Not my prime choice of sitting spot...

I wasn't to sure about the snake

Nico looked quite at home

Koranic school's version of college dorms

Our hostels...and it's little Christmas touch

Ooof, rough day for this little guy

Les Jardins Majorelles, beautiful and colourful
